Governors

The Work of the Governors

Herne View Church of England Primary School has unpaid volunteers called governors. They provide leadership and oversight to ensure the school's vision and direction are effective. They hold the headteacher accountable for the school's educational performance and oversee the school's finances to ensure money is well spent.

The governing body is a corporate entity, meaning it exists legally separate from its members. Governors come from the local church, family, and staff communities and are dedicated to helping every pupil achieve their full potential.

The Governing Body works as a group with various duties and powers. They focus on strategy and school improvement, while operational tasks like judging teaching quality and hiring staff are handled by school leaders. Their agenda is driven by strategic planning.
