Attendance - an overview and why it is important

At Herne View Church of England Primary, we think coming to school every day and being on time is really important. We want all our children to get into good habits from the very start.

Coming to school regularly helps you learn more, achieve more, stay safe and feel happy. It’s a big part of what makes our school a great place to be.

We believe every child can do their best, and that includes coming to school as much as possible. We ask all our pupils and their families to try their hardest to be here every day and on time.

All schools now have a Senior Attendance Champion, who is responsible for overseeing pupil attendance and developing how we support pupils to attend school regularly:
