Equality is very important at Herne View and as a school we ensure we are legally preventing discrimination based on characteristics like race, disability, sex, or religion, ensuring fair access to education (the Equality Act 2010), and actively promoting an inclusive environment.
As a school we meet the UK Legal and Policy framework by:
Ensuring we abide by the Equality Act 2010, this means we must not discriminate against our school community due to protected characteristics (sex, race, disability, religion, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, pregnancy/maternity).
Meeting the Public Sector Equality Duty means we consciously consider how our policies impact people who may have protect characteristics.
