Young Voices

This week it was a privilege to host the final of the Young Voices public speaking competition at our Silver St site. We have run and hosted this competition for many years now with Ilminster Rotary and this year children spoke on the theme of, ‘If I was a book character for a day, I would…’. In total 9 local schools took part with 13 finalists across the two categories from the 177 children who competed in the internal school competitions. The evening saw some very interesting talks as we heard about days spent as Matilda, BFG, weather changes, Wombles and very determined mice to name but a few. All the children performed superbly and were a credit to themselves and their schools and we were especially proud of our two Herne View finalists.
